Principal’s Update -11th September

Faction Carnival. Congratulations to all the students for their wonderful efforts and good sportsmanship at the Carnival last week. It was great to see so many families attend to support the students. Well done to Green faction for winning the carnival and to all the Champions:

Many thanks to Mr Riley for his organisation of the carnival and to Mr Barber, Mr McManus and all the staff for their hard work. A big thank you to the P&C for the terrific job they did in catering for the carnival. I understand over $2,000 was raised, which is a super effort!

Good luck to all our competitors who are competing at the Interschool Carnival at our school next Tuesday morning and all day Thursday.

Spelling Bee. Congratulations to all the students in Years 4, 5 and 6 who participated in the Spelling Bee yesterday. I was a very proud of the way the students did their best. Congratulations to the winners: Year 4 – Thomas Y, Year 5- Cameron M. and Year 6 – Patrick M.

Book Week 2020. It was great to see the students dress up as their favourite book character as part of Book Week. There were many very interesting costumes and thank you to the parents for your support. The P&C Book Fair was a huge success this year with over $1,000 being raised. Well done to Mrs Hogan and her helpers on the P&C.

Health and Well being. Parents are encouraged to view the new “Health and Well being” tab on the home page of the school website. We will be adding resources, links and ideas for parents to the page in the future.

Cyber Safety. In light of recent concerns about some social media platforms, parents may like to view the advice and resources on the eSafety website:

School Development Day. Parents are reminded that the School Development Day for term 4 will be on Monday 2nd November (week 4). Term 4 will start for students on Monday 12th October.

Covid-19. We are waiting for the Premier to make an announcement on October 24th about staying at Phase 4 restrictions or moving to Phase 5. Until then, we appreciate all the parents following the guidelines.
