COVID-19. Many thanks to all our families who have worn masks at the school and not entered the classrooms. We hope to hear later this week about whether the restrictions will continue or not. The Interschool Sport planned for Friday is going ahead but parents are not permitted to attend. I wish all our teams all the best for their first games for the year. The Lightning Carnival will be held on Thursday 17th June.
ANZAC Ceremony. Many thanks to Ms Flockhart for organising the ANZAC Ceremony last week. It was a moving ceremony and the students were very well behaved and listened closely to the poems, songs and speeches. Guest speaker, Major Mark Tamblyn’s message of the “ANZAC Spirit” was a fitting way to talk about Australia’s involvement in wars for our students. Special thanks to our Year 6 brass students, the school choir, Mrs Bec Martindale, Mrs Jessica Stojkovski MLA and the staff for their work in teaching the students about ANZAC Day in their classes.
PE Classes. It would be appreciated if parents could send a note with your child for Mr Puccinelli, our PE teacher, if your child is unable to do PE due to illness or injury please.
Year 6 Camp. The year 6’s are getting very excited about their camp at Mandijal from 5-7 May. I hope the students get some sleep and enjoy the wonderful outdoor activities that are planned.
NAPLAN. Our Year 3 and 5 students will be sitting the NAPLAN tests in Reading, Maths, Language Conventions, Spelling and Writing from 11-20th May. They have been busy practicing for the tests and I wish them all the best. All tests are done online except for Year 3 Writing which is written.
