Principal’s Update

Dear Parents and Carers

COVID-19. The Premier will be announcing whether we move to Phase 5 restrictions on August 15th . We will wait until then before deciding on whether we will go ahead with the discos, assemblies and carnivals. We are continuing to ensure the students follow good hygiene practices and the cleaners are cleaning high use surfaces each day.

2019 School Report. Parents can access the 2019 School Report on the school website. The report, which provides school performance data and information from 2019, has been approved by the School Board.

After School Play. It would be appreciated if parents could collect your children after school and leave the school grounds promptly. Children should not be playing on the playground equipment. Thank you for your cooperation.

Bikes and Scooters. I’m arranging for a Community Police officer to speak to all classes about wearing helmets when they are riding their bikes/scooters to and from school. It is also important that they walk their bikes/scooters across roads. The intersection of Crinum Court and Keatley Crescent is congested and a potentially dangerous spot around three o’clock. I will be applying for a Traffic Warden for Timberlane Drive near the round-about to help students and families cross safely.

School Development Day. The School Board has approved changing the date for the School Development Day in term 4 from 12th October to Monday 2nd November. This will enable the staff to review the students’ results from testing which will be done before and after the holidays.

NAIDOC. Parents are invited to view the articles, video and photos from NAIDOC Week which was a focus in the school during the last week of third term. There was some excellent work completed by the students.

P&C Meeting. The next P&C meeting will be held on Monday 27th July. Everyone is welcome.

Semester 1 Reports. Parents are reminded that the students’ semester 1 reports are posted on Connect. If you have misplaced your log in details, please contact the office.

Athletics. Mr Riley has arranged for some athletics coaching for students after school. Details will be sent out shortly.

Mulch. There is still a pile of mulch available to parents who would like to collect some for their gardens. Please contact the office if you are interested.
