Principal’s Update – June 8th 2021

Dear Parents and Carers

Student Disco. The first P&C disco for 18 months was a big success. There were many students who attended which meant more money was raised for the P&C. Well done to Courtney Anderton and her committee for all their great work. The students are eagerly awaiting the disco next term.

Merit Award Students. Congratulations to the following students who were presented with their Awards at the last assembly: Alex C, Emily B, Jayden G, Harrison B, Sofia T, Theodore B, Elyse A, Charlotte W, Noah D, Letizia T, Chloe C, Evie C, Meg B, Curtis M, George T, Luca P, Ava J, Edward F, Emily Y, Oliver C, Zac S, Jessica R, Greg H, Ruby C, Quinn M, Thomas Y, Charlotte H, Bailey M, Nadia S, Vanessa T, Cameron M, Tuai T.

Assembly. The Year 1 classes will be presenting an item at the assembly this week. All parents from Areas 3 and 4 and parents of Merit Award winners can attend. Please remember to follow social distancing guidelines and good hygiene practices.

Spelling Bee. Selected students from Years 4-6 will be competing in a Spelling Bee later this term. The top two students in each year will then compete against students from the Woodvale Network of Schools early in term 3. Good luck!

Fitness. The number of students and parents who are participating in the Runners’ Club has been terrific. We have now sorted out more iPads and the students are busy doing their laps. Well done to Mr Puccinelli for organising the club. The Junior Friday Fitness Fun has also been a big hit with the students and many parents. It’s certainly a great way to start the day, and to warm up! Our Year 4-6 students have been playing interschool sport against Creaney and North Woodvale Primary Schools recently. This has been excellent practice for the Lightning Carnival on June 17th. We are very grateful to the parents who have helped out with the coaching and umpiring.

  • Student Semester 1 reports will be posted on Connect on Wednesday 30th June.
  • Monday 19th July is a School Development Day and students do not start school until the 20th July.
