Principal’s Update March 18 2022

As we close Week 7 of Term 1, I again thank staff, students and families for your patience and diligence in following the Covid protocols. Things have certainly changed and evolved over the past month!  Students in Years 3-6 have been absolute champions with their mask wearing and staff continue to provide breaks during the day.

With WA experiencing our Covid peak currently, things will continue to be a little hectic on that front over the next few weeks. But we shall continue to persist in the same way we all have to date – with great psychological flexibility. Thank you for keeping your unwell child at home and notifying us promptly. I am required to record positive cases and report our numbers to the Department each day. We have postponed further staff meetings this term and cancelled next week’s Board meeting. The next Board meeting will be week 2 of Term 2.

Students in Years 3 and 5 will participate in a practice session next Thursday 24 March. This is a ‘combined’ assessment to test network capabilities for our system and for all students to get a sense of what the assessment environment will feel like. If your child feels anxious, please contact the class teacher.

Just a reminder canteen lunches are being delivered to classrooms to avoid gatherings at collection time. Please ensure your child’s lunch order displays their correct year level as some lunches continue to be mixed up.

BUSY BEE: Saturday 26 March 8am-12noon

Our amazing gardener Lucas has plans to reinvent the garden beds on the Crinum Ct side of the school and outside the Year 3 classes. Lucas needs some assistance clearing dead wood, shrubs, rocks etc to lay new retic and replant the garden later.

If you are free and don’t mind getting your hands dirty, Lucas and Jean Paul would appreciate your assistance next Saturday 26 March anytime between 8am and 12noon. Could you please let Deb in the office know or shoot me an email

As promised in my last update, I have snapped some amazing work from across the school. We continue to have fabulous learning taking place and it will be lovely when you can enter classrooms again to view the work on display. Below is a selection of photographs from Year 6, Year 2 and Kindy.

We will be celebrating our cultural diversity in Harmony Week next week with loads of activities and a special dress up day next Wednesday March 23. Students may wear traditional dress of their culture or something orange. Next week I will post Harmony photos.

Kind regards

Lisa Wade
