COVID-19. We are awaiting the Premier’s announcement on or before 24th October about whether we move to stage 5 restrictions. This will impact a number of events planned for term 4. However, swimming lessons will go ahead in weeks 7 and 8 for the Year 6’s at Mullaloo Beach and in weeks 9 and 10 for PP-Year 5 students at Aqua Motion in Wanneroo. We are also planning for the Year 6 dinner/dance and graduation to go ahead.
School Development Day. Parents are reminded that students start term four on Monday 12th October. The School Development Day has been moved to Monday 2nd November.
PEAC Testing. The Primary Extension and Challenge Program (PEAC) test for Year 4 students is set for Wednesday 14th October.
PAT Testing. Students in Pre Primary to Year 6 will sit for the Progressive Achievement Tests (PAT) in English and Maths in weeks 1-3 next term. Students will be given their results which will give us a lot of important data on student achievement across the school this year.
Pre Primary 2 – Road Safety.
In preparation for their term four Road Safety concept, the Pre-Primary students developed a video and photos to promote the National Road safety week #NRSW. These videos and photographs will be submitted to the Constable Care road safety school competition which will choose a winner at random to participate in a fully paid excursion to the Road Safety school. Remember to always be safe on and near roads and fingers crossed for the Pre-Primary students!

STEM in Area 12 – Year 4
Well done to the students in Area 12 for their work on their STEM projects recently. They used Edison robots and rubber band racers.
STEM Technology Using Bee Bots in Year One Area 3
In Area 3 we have been planning and writing a sequence of algorithms for making a Bee-Bot move from one location to another. We have selected a starting point and a finishing point then drew pictures to represent each location. We then circled pictographs to recorded the number of steps to get to the location. We realised that you can go in different directions to get to the same location. We then programmed the Bee-Bot and tried out our plans. Some worked really well and some others did not. We had lots of fun.
