The Buddy Program

The 'Buddy Program' has been a successful Woodvale tradition for a number of years. Senior students are matched with youngsters from the junior school to engage in a range of academic, social and sporting activities. Strong relationships are often forged and both groups benefit enormously from the program.

Senior students mentor their buddies by providing expertise across important areas of literacy and numeracy. Reading age-appropriate stories, drilling basic facts and practising words and sounds in a relaxed environment generates positive outcomes on many levels.

The program also extends to physical activity and games. The annual Easter Egg Hunt (video below) is a particular highlight and a ramble through Yellagonga National Park is always popular.
